Located in a 24,000 acre country estate, Lake Vyrnwy Classic Hotel (pronounced Vern Wee) is under 2 hours from Birmingham, where you can lose yourself in the hustle and bustle of the city. The dramatically contrasting landscape of Snowdonia with craggy mountains, wild moorland, forests and spectacular waterfalls combine to create a bewitching backdrop.
There is a warm welcome to greet you and a reassuring atmosphere of antiquity and tradition. Elegant yet relaxed, the hotel has the aura of a country house. All bedrooms are individually furnished and decorated, some with special features such as jacuzzis, suites, four posters, and balconies. A superb range of leisure activities include fly fishing, tennis, water sports and more. Pets are welcome, with heated kennels available on-site.

We are incredibly lucky to live and work amongst some of the finest countryside anywhere. The green and fertile land provides us with the most wonderful ingredients. As head chef, I have an active policy of trying to source ingredients locally. Only if it is not grown, nor made in the locality, will I then go elsewhere. I estimate that over 80% of the food we prepare comes from the British Isles, and the majority of that is from Wales and the Borders. None of the food we cook is genetically modified. Our 2 AA Rosette restaurant has a dress code, which is smart casual with no jeans/trainers. Alternatively we have a Tavern Bar/Restaurant for a more informal experience.
By car: The hotel is an easy journey from the North-West, Midlands or London. London - 3.5 hours; Birmingham - 1.5 hours; Bristol - 2.5 hours; Manchester - 1.5 hours; Cardiff - 3 hours. BY AIR/TRAIN: Cars can be arranged to meet guests at airports and railway stations.
